Economically efficient processing of automotive shredder residues

July 2020
For almost a year, a BHS-Sonthofen rotor impact mill has been in operation at Jansen Shredder Recycling BV in Moerdijk, the Netherlands, for the fine processing of automotive shredder residues (ASR). Thanks to years of experience in the processing of metal-bearing waste materials, the experts from Sonthofen found the optimal machine for processing abrasive materials. Wear costs at Jansen have significantly decreased since.

Combination of Concentrating Candle Filters and Pressure Plate Filters for Removing Salts and Contaminants from Glycol Regeneration Units

March 2020
For the transport of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in pipelines, monoethylene glycol (MEG) is added as corrosion inhibitor and to reduce the freezing point of the water in the LNG. The MEG is then reclaimed. This article discusses the use of a combination system for solid-liquid filtration as an alternative to static thickeners, centrifuges, filter presses and cartridges.

BHS-Sonthofen supplies Biogrinder for biomass processing plant

February 2020
The Association for Waste Management Kempten (Zweckverband für Abfallwirtschaft Kempten – ZAK) installed a new biomass processing plant in May 2019. Technology worth about €2.8 million in total now ensures that foreign matter is optimally removed from organic waste and green waste before fermentation. The plant-based elements have to be effectively decomposed in order to achieve the best result for the latter. That is why a BHS-Sonthofen Biogrinder is now used to process and shred this material. ...

The finishing touch for concrete sands

December 2019
The sand found in the high-strength concrete used to construct Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s prestigious buildings must be pure and the particle shape needs to be cubical. Since the large quantities of natural sand in the region do not boast these properties, mine operator Stevin Rock manufactures the sought-after commodity out of limestone itself in Oman. Two rotor centrifugal crushers of type RSMX have been used for the final – and crucial – finishing stage since September 2018.

Process optimization: Grinding technology from the building industry stands the test for fertilizer production

September 2019
For the very first time, Czech fertilizer producer Lovochemie A.S. is breaking its ammonium sulfate using a rotor impact mill manufactured by BHS-Sonthofen. With the help of this technique, the company has been able to replace a number of its regular process steps. The system’s strength lies in its highly consistent grading curve and low cost of operation.
