Two biogrinders for an organic waste plant in China

November 2022
In China, BHS-Sonthofen is already widely known as a reliable partner for recycling technology. Good word of mouth convinced the operator of a waste recycling plant in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province in northwest China to order two biogrinders for the recycling of kitchen waste. The treated organic material mainly consists of the food waste from homes and restaurants. Some adjustments to meet the specific requirements of the project led to an improved efficiency of the BHS technology with increased biogas production and better process stability.

Long-Life service contract for high machine availability at recycling company in Austria

April 2022
Wear parts that aren’t made the manufacturer of a machine often promise to be a more cost-effective alternative to the original spare parts. However, they also pose risks to a continuous production process in the long run. Frequently, these spare parts are inferior to the original – not only in terms of quality, but also in terms of service, maintenance and availability. METRAN Rohstoff-Aufbereitungs GmbH therefore opted for a BHS LONG-LIFE service contract for its two rotor impact mills of type RPMV 1113 in 2022.

Turning waste into energy with the BHS universal shredder in Romania

March 2022
Sustainable use of residual materials has become economically and ecologically indispensable for many industrial processes. In Romania, German-based concrete producer Heidelberg Cement therefore looked for fuels derived from household waste. The company turned to local waste recycler Pacos, where a universal shredder (type NGU) from BHS-Sonthofen has recently been installed to produce RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel)- fractions. The implementation was quick and straightforward – due to the full-service support of BHS-Sonthofen and its local partner CTE Solution.

Crushed it: Transforming waste into energy with the BHS Biogrinder

February 2022
Green energy is not all the same: Indian company Mithras Green Technology uses the Biogrinder of type RBG 08 from BHS-Sonthofen to produce sustainable energy solutions from organic municipal waste. Now the company not only saves valuable resources, but also a lot of time.

BHS technology used for the innovative HALOSEP recycling process

February 2022
The EU wants at least 50 percent of household waste to be recycled and the rest to be used as a source of energy in waste incineration plants. However, waste incineration produces ash – a hazardous waste contaminated with salts and heavy metals that must be disposed of in special landfills, which involves long transport routes and high costs. The Danish power plant operator Vestforbraending uses the HALOSEP technology developed and patented by the Swedish group Stena Recycling, a process solution that makes it possible to dispose of ash as normal waste. In this project funded by the European Union, technology from BHS-Sonthofen is used for two steps at once.

An environmentally friendly alternative to peat: The Biogrinder efficiently processes compost

February 2021
The Biogrinder from BHS-Sonthofen is successfully used by a cooperative in northern Germany for the production of an alternative to peat. A mobile plant with a control system from BHS Control Systems was implemented. The plant efficiently shreds surpluses of compost material and produces a substance that is suitable for use as an environmentally friendly alternative to peat. For example, the product is added to the production of potting soil to reduce the amount of peat contained in it.
