Regardless of whether our domestic and commercial waste is used as refuse-derived fuel (RDF) in waste incineration or it is recycled, plastic packaging, food scraps and, occasionally, entire small appliances must be shredded beforehand. Our corresponding machines range from cutters to impact crushers and shears. We have the perfect solution for every application.
The composition of waste varies widely, which makes it necessary to first homogenize it. As a low-speed, high-torque twin-shaft crusher, the BHS RAPAX makes it possible to perform initial disaggregation of even challenging, hard components. The pre-shredder can also be used to optimally crush large parts.
Following pre-shredding, metals, minerals, PVC or other unwanted materials can be separated in additional process steps. The BHS rotor shredder (type RS) thoroughly cleans the ferrous and non-ferrous fractions that are generated. Between the shredding steps, sensors can be used to sort out plastics or glass, for example, while magnetic and eddy current separators remove metal scrap. The process yields a high-calorific fraction that provides thermal energy as refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and materials that can be returned to the material cycle. BHS-Sonthofen offers to design your system based on your recycling requirements and select the right shredding machines for your needs.
