AOK Soccer Camp 2022 - Kicking like the pros

... was the motto for around 180 young soccer players at the second AOK soccer camp of FC Oberstdorf. From August 2-4 and 9-11, ball-loving children and young people met at Oberstdorf's Oybele Stadium for joint training. The camp was made possible by the active support of regional sponsors, including BHS-Sonthofen.

Beautiful, more beautiful, soccer camp: Superlatives probably describe this year's vacation offer of FC Oberstdorf best. Six days of glorious summer weather, first-class coaches, top catering, state-of-the-art equipment and the best supporters and cooperation partners in the world ensured perfect conditions and beaming faces among the participants. With numerous former and active soccer experts, including ex-professional Matthias Jörg, Schalke star Volker Abramczik, German champion Sarah Romert and goalkeeper coach Hansi Steinle from the Eintracht Frankfurt soccer school, renowned big names from the scene trained with the young kickers and provided valuable tips.

Unforgettable days and a strong community

In addition to routine ball handling and various shooting techniques, the training schedule also included various forms of play and goalkeeper training. But it wasn't just about promoting and developing footballing qualities, but above all about having fun and creating a strong sense of community. "It was important to us to convey one thing: mutual respect and teamwork. Without this, successful team sports are not possible," says camp director and initiator of the AOK soccer camp, Andreas Maier, summarizing the concept of the event.

Social commitment from BHS-Sonthofen

For first-time sponsor BHS-Sonthofen, the training camp was all about promoting social programs for children and families in the Allgäu region. That's definitely how Marketing Manager Roland Schmid sees it: "Summer, sun and soccer as a top offer for children and young people, we at BHS-Sonthofen are of course delighted that we were able to contribute to the successful Soccer Camp 2022 as a sponsor. The promotion of children's and youth projects here in the region is close to our hearts and the popular sport of soccer represents a great opportunity for this. And who knows, maybe the next Lewandowski will learn his trade here." For BHS-Sonthofen, it was certainly not the last participation of this kind: The provider of solutions for mechanical and plant engineering will be happy to be back on the pitch for a new edition of the soccer camp in 2023.
